FAQs

Is EventSG free to use?

Yes. Any public officer with a ".gov.sg" email, officers from whitelisted public healthcare & officers from whitelisted public educational institutions are able to login & create letters on LetterSG.

Can I take attendance manually for users who don’t have Singpass?

Singpass is the only way to take attendance for now. We understand that the following groups of people might not have Singpass:

  • Foreigners on Work Permit

  • Those less than 16 years old

  • Elderly who don’t have or are not familiar with tech

When can attendees take attendance for an event? Are there any restrictions?

There are no restrictions. Anyone who is able scan the QR code or access the event link is able to take attendance. Attendance can be taken even before the event has started, or after the event has ended.

I'm concerned that EventSG collects sensitive information from the attendees such as their NRIC.

EventSG has the clearance to collect and store NRICs from members of public upon check-in. All NRICs are masked before being shown to the event organizers (only the last 4 characters are revealed). However, if the event organizers do not have their attendees' full NRICs, the RSVP feature would not be usable for future events since the full unmasked NRIC is needed for the RSVP feature. Additionally, we understand that there are public officers who might not be able to collect NRICs on their work laptop.

Can I make my event private/closed-door (i.e. only allow those who registered for the event to attend the event, and block everyone else)?

Currently, anyone who has an event's QR code or link is able to check in to the event at any time (even if the event has not yet started or after the event has ended).

What upcoming features are planned for EventSG?

  • Ticketing system

  • Edit/delete events

  • Private/closed-door event

  • Feedback collection post-event

  • Option to collect less information from attendees upon check-in

  • Using identifiers (e.g. phone number/email) other than Singpass for attendees when checking into an event

  • Option for attendees to input more information upon check-in (e.g. agency/department/army rank/designation)

I can't find an answer to my question. Where can I get further assistance?
